Our 7 Step Process

Our process is strategically created to ensure timelines are met, budgets are adhered to, and quality is maintained.

  • You will begin by filling out our 5-minute project discovery sheet. Here we will ask you to detail your project as well as what you're looking for in a contractor. You will be able to upload photos of your existing space and any inspiration photos you have used to help create your vision. Our project specialist is ready to assist you via phone call if needed.

Within 24 hours, you’ll receive a call back from our project specialist. At this time your specialist has already familiarized themselves with your project. This phone call serves as a deeper dive into the specifics of your project and takes approximately 10 minutes. Our objective is to gather as much information as possible about the existing space. What are some of the things you dislike about it? What do you think can make this space more suited to your family's lifestyle?

Our goal during this call is threefold: 1. To gain a clear picture of your project providing you with a rough idea of what G Contracting typically charges to perform your specific scope of work. 2. For you to gain a clear picture of why G Contracting is the best option available to handle your project from start to finish. 3. To schedule your in-home project assessment.

  • This phase takes approximately 1 hour and occurs in the space, or potential space, to be remodeled. Being in the space allows our specialist to gain a more personal understanding about what you are looking to achieve. Here we can provide valuable remodeling tips, ideas, and information based on our 30 years of experience in the field. We will explain what’s possible and what may not be, and most importantly can share in your vision of the remodel. In preparation for next steps, we will take detailed measurements, photos, and video to help document the transformation. Finally, time will be scheduled for you and your decision-making partners to visit our newly designed showroom, meet with our full team, and see your personalized presentation!

  • Our team is excited about this one! This step takes approximately 1 hour of your time and is held in our showroom. Your designer has been reaching out to you asking for your valuable input on any details or design elements you may have reimagined since your assessment. During these 2 weeks, the G Team has been working diligently behind the scenes to put your project presentation together. We have entered all the previously gathered information into our proprietary budgeting programs to create a very realistic price range for your project. We now have basic material and labor pricing gathered based on your space. At this point, we are extremely confident that we can provide the levels of service and quality that you expect from G Contracting to build the kitchen, bath, or addition of your dreams within our projected budget range.

  • This phase takes approximately 4-6 weeks of constant communication between you and your designer. We meet a few times on-site as well as in our showroom. We also have daily communication through email, phone conversations, and text. During this phase, we work together to create and document every detail that will be involved in the construction of your project. There are 2 goals we must achieve in order to move on to the next phase of the project. We must create 3-d renderings, floor plans, and elevations that give you a true picture of what your finished space will look like, as well as detail any specific construction elements to keep your project flowing smoothly (we ARE the best in the industry at this) once we begin. Secondly, you and your designer must have created a design vision that you and our entire team love and are beyond excited to see come to fruition!

  • This phase takes approximately 3-6 months, dependent upon the size and scope of your project. During this step, our project coordinator is working behind the scenes with your township to obtain the necessary permits when applicable, as well as ordering all the products needed to complete your project. As your product starts to arrive at our warehouse over the next coming months, it is inspected, tagged, and staged in our warehouse in an effort to keep your project flowing smoothly (did I mention we ARE the best in the industry at this) once we begin. This greatly eliminates the risk of finding missing or damaged materials during construction. Toward the end of this step you will be contacted to discuss delivery times and dates, and a staging area at the home for your materials.

You will also be introduced to our app Buildertrend which contains ALL the details of your project at your fingertips. This gives you access to your full live schedule and the opportunity to see daily progress logs with photos that get uploaded by our team members and trade partners on-site. The app will also allow you easily connect with your project manager at any time throughout the process to address any questions or concerns.

  • The fun part! Unfortunately, this can also be a rather frustrating part. Any construction in your personal space has the potential to disrupt your normal daily routines. We pride ourselves in taking every precaution possible to greatly reduce these stresses. This is where you’ll begin to appreciate the true value of our design and project development phase.

To ensure we understand your needs, phase 6 begins with a pre-construction conference with your project manager about two weeks before construction begins. We will discuss project details such as parking for our men, dumpster locations if needed, pet and child safety, permit placement, site preparation/protection, best access to the remodel location, and many other key points. At this time you will receive a project binder that all team members and trade partners will rely on to acquire all the tiny details that you and your designer have created in the project development phase.

  • Your project is completed right on schedule! This phase takes place 2-4 weeks after construction completion. Jonathan and Jim now stand with you in your finished space and admire the amazing transformation. Your input is extremely important to us. We look to gather valuable feedback on our process, the project team and the work itself. This information is shared with our team and used as a learning tool to ensure we continue to improve from project to project. We want the good and the bad, every detail about how you perceived our process and your remodel experience. We will circle back to phase 2 and discuss the things you previously disliked about the space as it used to be and how your partnership with G Contracting has eliminated those issues. We will also present you with our industry-leading 5-year warranty at this time. Lastly, we’ll take a few final photos and videos of your completed space. Our hope as a local family-owned company is that you would be very happy to leave us a five-star review and refer us when the topic comes up with friends and family.
